This cover is an optional extra for covering the ECO-oh! compost bin and is available separately.
It consists of individual, gutter-shaped profiles that sit lightly on top of the container. This provides sufficient ventilation for the ripe compost to breathe, yet provides adequate protection against rain. Ensuring sufficient humidity and good oxygen management will ensure good composting.

The cover is optional for protecting the ECO-oh! compost bin.
This consists of loose gutter-shaped profiles that form a slight slope on top of the bin.
These allow the mature compost to breathe sufficiently and keep off most of the rain.
After all, good management of moisture and oxygen are the secret of successful composting.
It is best to place the Ecopic stakes into the ground every 50 cm. You can then attach the Ecolat edging slat to the Ecopics with stainless steel screws (2 per stake). You can also use a spirit level to perfect the result.

This is possible, but it s not recommended. This may lead to the Ecolat being less stable and eventually coming loose. Therefore, we recommend a solid placement using Ecopic stakes.

Rolled Ecolat is specifically meant for bending/flowing borders and is not suitable for straight edging.
Ecolat in straight slats is specifically designed for straight borders and light bends; it is not suitable for curved borders.
For stable attachment of Ecolat edging, use Ecopic stakes with H-profile.
Ecopic with a height of 38 cm is sufficient for solid attachment in the ground. Depending on the ground and the application, heights of 58 cm and 76 cm are also available. For example, a pond edge is more likely to use 58 cm Ecopic.

Ecolat edging for the garden is also available in brown. For Ecolat, this is available on a roll of 25 m with a height of 14 cm and the Ecolat 2 m straight slats with a height of 14 cm.
Ecopic attachment stakes with a height of 38 cm poles are also available in brown.
Ecolat can be worked in much the same way as wood. This means you can easily saw it and screw into it. The slats can be cut using a hacksaw or a circular saw.
You can use stainless steel wood screws of 4.5 x 45 mm.

This is possible. Ecopic stakes can be attached to the Ecoplanc using stainless steel screws.
Ecoplanc works perfectly as vertically placed edging for a garden border or garden path, construction of a one square foot garden, herb garden, vegetable garden, vegetable beds, sandbox, etc.
Use of Ecoplanc as a horizontally-placed, flat edging (for example, around a pond) is not recommended because of the expansion and contraction properties of the material.
You do not need to pre-drill the Ecolat strips, unless you want to place screws in them at less than 2 cm from the edge.

Depending on the type of product and the use, their shelf life will be between 10 and 30 years, or even longer, under normal circumstances.
The products become lighter in the sun. It may take several years because this discolouration stops or becomes stable.
ECO-oh! products are best cleaned with a sponge, lukewarm water and mild soap (like Marseille soap). We absolutely do not recommend using a steel brush or abrasive sponge, a pressure washer or caustic cleaners (thinner, bleach,…).
All products in the ECO-oh! range are body-tinted in a natural grey colour.
Ecolat and Ecopic are also available body-tinted in the colour brown.

The ECO-oh! range of street furnishings not only comes in the natural grey colour, there is also a selection of 12 coating colours available: white, black, blue, brown, yellow, red, porphyry, Belgian green, English green, light, bright and dark anthracite.
We do not colour the Pyrus flower box, the half-moon garden post and the range of hollow profiles.
Ecolat and Ecopic are available in natural grey and brown.

The ECO-oh! tables, picnic sets and bench seats (with the exception of the benches in the Wood series) are reinforced with a metal bar placed under the profile or by integrating a metal tube in the profile.
Temperature changes can cause the material to bend. The more solid the material, the less it will bend.
ECO-oh! materials are completely safe for humans and the environment. They have already been used successfully for several decades by many satisfied users at home and abroad, and they are 100% safe. For example, herbs, vegetables and other plants proliferate in Ecolat or Ecoplanc edging, and ECO-oh! compost bins ensure the composting process is not disturbed.
The recycled plastic from ECO-oh! meets the stringent European Toys Directive, and has been tested for safety by various official research institutions. Specific information about this can be found in the file "Material properties" (Point 7. Ecological requirements). The various official research reports can be reviewed in our offices.
ECO-oh! materials are made from a mix of 100% household plastic waste. These include packaging films, yoghurt pots, butter containers, cold meat packaging, herb containers, etc. that are currently being sorted by citizens. All these plastics meet the strictest requirements. Furthermore, any harmful substances are removed from the process as a result of intensive washing during the mixed plastics processing.
The "Sorting rules for mixed plastics" provides an overview of the types of household plastic waste that ECO-oh! accepts. This is along the lines of the pink bag collections that are currently in operation throughout Flanders (Belgium).
The tables, benches and picnic sets from the ECO-oh! range of street furnishings can be secured in the ground using anchors made from recycled plastic.
These weigh 18 kg and come in the form of a trapezium. The footrests in furnishings in the Wood, Park and Picnic series have been predrilled.
K-benches are secured using two predrilled profiles measuring 6x12x47 cm, which are attached under the K-benches and then mounted onto the anchors.

Take into account a 0.2% variation along the length and width, and up to 10% for the thickness. The boards should be cut to size at the same time and while at the same temperature – see our “Recommendations for working with ECO-oh! boards”.
Variations may occur in the colour and marking of the boards, both in the skin as well as in the core. This is due to variations in the composition of the recycled plastic material.
The recycled plastic expands and contracts with temperature changes. Keep this in mind during installation and allow sufficient room for expansion. We recommend drilling holes 3 mm over size. To calculate the appropriate distance between the boards and fixing points, calculate the maximum expansion for each length of board in your construction – see “attaching/installing” in our Recommendations for working with ECO-oh! boards.
The boards can be joined and fastened using screws and connection fittings. In order to absorb expansion, pre-drilling is recommended: we recommend drilling holes 3 mm over size. We recommend Phillips self-tapping (chipboard) screws; use chemical anchors if necessary to achieve the best result.
To fully enjoy the long lifetime of the plastic boards, we recommend stainless steel screws and fixings.
We recommend a maximum distance of 350 to 400 mm between fixing points; although the ideal distance may vary, depending on the application. The smaller the distance between two fixing points, the more stable the result.
Nailing or glueing the boards is not recommended.

You can use standard woodworking tools for drilling, milling and sawing. Avoid high speeds to avoid softening or even melting the material - see our Recommendations for working with ECO-oh! boards.
No. Shallow scratches can appear on the surface during normal use.
Painting the material is not recommended because this reduces the benefit of using the boards in that they do not require maintenance: painted boards will probably require some form of maintenance.
The top layer of our boards is mainly PE; As a general rule, the surface tension of the paint surface should be lower than the surface tension of the board. We cannot offer any advice about specific paints, and can only suggest that a test be carried out on a sample beforehand.
